Insert / Update in SQL Server from Salesforce with Pentaho Data Integration

To start working on Pentaho Data Integration,you must have to download the package from sourceforge  from below URL- http://sourceforge.net/projects/pentaho/files/Data%20Integration/5.3/

Its file size is around 604 MB(approx.),when download gets complete then extract the same in your local directory and the Run “Spoon.bat” file from there(or you can create a short cut on your Desktop).

After the successful run your window will looks like

Now Double click on “Transformations” (yellow highlighted). Now your window will like below one, from there u can drag and drop the left site element to the main window to make the connection between Salesforce and SQL Server.

Now as s next step, you have to click on “Input” (1st element in the left side) and the select “Salesforce Input” and then drag from left and drop at right (please refer below screen shot)

Now as s next step, you have to click on “Output” (2nd element in the left side) and the select “Insert /Update” and then drag from left and drop at right (please refer below screen shot)

Now as s next step, we are going to make a connection between (by clicking on “Output Connector” and drop that arrow on 2nd step ”Insert/ Update”) “Salesforce Input” and “Insert / Update” (please refer below screen shot)

Now as s next step, we are going connect the Salesforce Dev org to “Salesforce Input” ,for this you have to double click on “Salesforce Input” and then pass the credentials with Security token (if you are not in trusted Network) and then click on the “Fields” Tab on left top corner and also select the object from whom you want to send the data in SQL Server at stage you can also specify your own SOQL query with where clause(Click on “Test connection” button to validate whether your credentials are correct or not) and if everything has been done then click “OK”, please refer below screen shot

If your connection is correct then you will be popped up with a message.

Now as s next step, we are going connect the SQL Server to “Insert / Update” ,for this you have to double click on “Insert / Update” and if everything has been done then click “OK”.

Now click on “Wizard” button and select the yellow highlighted items and then click on “Next”.

Now in this step fill all the fields highlighted in yellow(In Data base server either you can give the name or IP and Add a port of your SQL Server and also give the DB name and click finish and if you want to verify the connection then click on “Test” button.

Now in this step,you can map the fields of the Salesforce and SQL server table and then click “OK”.

Now as s next step, Save this transformation in your local drive and click on Run button (in below highlighted as yellow) to execute this transformation/Application and then click “Launch” button.

If your transformation /Application executes successfully then you can see green tick mark on both steps (“Salesforce Input” & “Insert / Update”), please refer below screen shot
